I understand that arranging your first counselling session can sometimes feel pretty daunting, nerve-wracking and perhaps something you're not even sure you want to do at all, wondering: 'How will this help me?' ...
... Thats why I offer a free of charge Discovery Call lasting up to 20 minutes so that you have an opportunity to:

get acquainted with me and get a feel of whether I am 'a good fit' for you relationally

ask me any questions you might have about the therapeutic process
-
share a brief summary of why you're considering therapy and explore how I can help you
-
share your needs, hopes and expectations so we can explore how we could best work together to meet them.

make an informed decision as to whether you feel we are a good fit for working together, to see if the way that I work suits you at this time, before making any financial commitments.

book a counselling session or a block of sessions (you can find my discounted rates for block bookings on my Fees page). Or you may decide that you would like some more time to 'shop around' and make your decision at a later date. Or you may decide that this just isn't for you and that's ok - What ever feels right for you!
During your Free Discovery Call, I will endeavour to eliminate any queries, worries and apprehensions you
might have, however, if you are still left feeling unsure
after our call, there is no pressure or obligation to
book a session with me - please take the time you need to decide what feels best for you at this time.
It is important that you find the right therapist for you and so I encourage you to ‘shop around’ to find the right person.
I may or may not be that person and that's why I like to provide a free introductory call, so we can find out.

I recommend that we have our Discovery Call via video call on Zoom, if possible, so that you and I are able to simulate an experience as near to what working together might feel like. However, if this medium doesn't feel comfortable for you, thats perfectly understandable and you can schedule a telephone call with me at a day and time that is most convenient for you.
If you are interested in telephone counselling sessions then it may not be necessary for you to arrange a video call and so a telephone call may be most appropriate as that would be the medium we would be using if you decide to work with me.
Please note: A Discovery Call does not involve counselling or any therapeutic work, it is an introductory call that helps to inform you of what it might be like to work together and help you to decide if you'd like to take the next step and book a therapy session.

1:1 counselling sessions are 60 minutes long and can be paid for by online bank transfer. It is recommended for your own therapeutic progress and for the development of our therapeutic relationship, that sessions take place weekly to start with and can then be later adjusted to your changing needs over time, as you choose. Sessions can be scheduled at a frequency that suits you (weekly, fortnightly, monthly and evenings) - I will do my best to accommodate what works around your current or changing lifestyle. I offer sessions from Monday - Friday at differing times, my earliest appointment starting at 9am and my last ending at 8pm. Please see my working hours listed on the banner at the bottom of the page to see if they are a fit for you.

Telephone or Online?
Both mediums can be very effective and have many advantages. I am happy to work with you via whichever method feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
How will it work?
Online Sessions:
I will email you 5-10 minutes before each of our scheduled sessions with the Zoom link to our online therapy room, allowing you time to get comfortable and settled before we begin. I lock this room when sessions are in progress so no one else can join.

Telephone Sessions:
I will always call you at the time of our appointment.

What will I need for our sessions together?

A safe and comfortable space that meets your privacy requirements - you might wish to consider a space where you won't be overheard or interrupted.

A charger handy, should your device run out of battery. It might be helpful to put your device on charge prior to our sessions together.

(Optional) You're welcome to bring along something you find grounding like a blanket, your pet, a soft toy, a warm drink or something else that puts you at ease.

& SELF-DISCOVERY SESSIONS


Personal Development & Soul-Discovery sessions are aimed at the individual that wants to dig deeper into their psyche and focus on their own personal and spiritual growth.
This is not counselling and is not recommended for anyone who is struggling with mental health concerns - please seek my 1:1 counselling sessions above if this would be more suited to your needs at this time.
As this is deep work, things may come up that may require me to draw on my counselling skills and therapeutic approaches, where appropriate, for your own healing and development, although my main focus will be mentoring you to unlock hidden aspects of Self and facilitate a safe space of spiritual and personal development.
